The Champ Comes Home: ROCKY I-VI 4K Collection Announced

July 16 is going to be an exciting day for fans of the Rocky franchise, as the entire series of films is going to be available in 4K in an exciting boxset. From the wildly inspiring, Best Picture-winning Rocky (1976), all the way to the inspirational comeback tale of Rocky Balboa (2006), the films have never looked better on home video. As any avid physical media collector can tell you, there’s nothing more fulfilling than having an entire series of films live within one dedicated set. It makes the shelf look that much better, and can make marathon viewing easier than ever! And with a series of films like the Rocky franchise, you’ll surely find yourself amped up time and time again to put the next film into your disc player. And beyond the films themselves, there’s a ton more to be excited about as well.

So what exactly is included? The following films are included in the set: Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rocky V and Rocky Balboa. On top of the original theatrical versions most fans fell in love with, there’s an additional cut of two films; the Ultimate Director’s Cut of Rocky IV, Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago and the Rocky Balboa Director’s Cut. The latter adds an additional 14 minutes of footage not seen in theaters. Aside from the films themselves, there’s plenty of bonus features for supplementary viewing, taking you deeper into the ring with Rocky Balboa himself. On the included Blu-ray disc, there’s an hour-long documentary on how the extended cut of Rocky IV came together, as well as Sylvester Stallone himself providing a commentary track on Rocky Balboa, alongside an alternate ending of the film. This is on top of a selection of previously released special features. So clear some space on the shelf people, the boxing champ is back with a full collection like never before!

Own it on 4K Ultra HD on July 16, 2024.
